Emerging Leader Development Program

Based on the Leadership Pipeline first principles, the Emerging Leader program is designed to increase success for both the individual and the organization by preventing wrong career choices and preparing high-potential leaders (employees) as realistically as possible for an actual leadership or specialist role.

It is an intensive 2-day training program that helps participants to develop a clear picture of how a leader of others adds value to the organization, what kind of leadership performance is expected at the leading others level, and what uniquely distinguishes a leader of others from an individual contributor.

Furthermore, this leadership program provides solid insight into what it takes to successfully transition into a leader of others role. Participants are introduced to typical transition issues and are given the opportunity to prepare for their first transition if and when they decide to pursue a leadership career.

The startling statistics for new leaders: Outright failure in the first 18 months is estimated to range between 38% and more than 50%.
Based on the Leadership Pipeline principles, the Emerging Leader program is designed to increase success for both the individual and the organization by preventing wrong career choices and preparing potential leaders as realistically as possible for an actual leadership role.

Leaders of others are your front-line managers. They lead approximately 80-90% of all employees in the organization. They have the single highest day-to-day impact on engagement, motivation, attitude, job satisfaction, quality, and employee retention.

Ensuring that potential leaders understand the performance expectations and success criteria is essential to enable future leadership performance.

The success of the program is not defined by all participants subsequently deciding to pursue a leadership career. The outcome of the program is equally successful if participants conclude that a leadership career is not the right path for them.

Target Audience

The program is designed for individual contributors who need to explore the leader of others role either because they already know that they want to pursue such a career or because they want to find out whether or not a leadership career is the right path for them.

Emerging Leaders is NOT for newly appointed leaders. Newly appointed leaders should either attend the onboarding program for newly appointed leaders or the Leading Others transition program after at least six to nine months in their leader of others role.

Action Learning

The program is designed on the basis of the actual job that needs to be done as a leader of others.
However, it is designed in a way in which the participants can explore the leader of others role while at the same time acquiring leadership skills that will help make the work much more efficient in their current role.

While exploring what it means to set business objectives, developing leadership talent, giving feedback, making fact-based assessments, they will at the same time review their own business objectives and development plans, and they will learn how to give feedback to peers and how to collect input on their own performance in their current roles.
